Patch Overview
Roland “NativeDance” Patch on Moog Matriarch
I was playing with my old Roland D-550 and was inspired to try an analog version on my Moog Matriarch. Obviously…the D-550 uses PCM digital waves, so it’s not meant as a comparison. Just a fun experiment.

Basic Patch
Pam Meets the Moog Matriarch
The basic idea behind this patch (and series of videos) is to find some interesting ways to expand on the (considerable) capabilities of the Matriarch by supplementing it with a few extra modules.
This is a short jam and tutorial patch for the Moog Matriarch featuring ALM Busy Circuits’ Pamela’s New Workout as a drum and pitch sequencer.
I’m also enlisting the help of Intellijel’s Bifold & Quadrax, Expert Sleepers’ Disting (as a filter in this patch), Doepfer’s A-138p Performance Mixer and the wonderfully useful Happy Nerding 3x MIA utility mixer.
This video is a lot longer then most of the videos I post…so here’s an index if you want to skip to certain points.

A Few More Matriarch “Krell-ish” patches
Krell-ish Generative 01
A two voice generative patch for the Matriarch.
Voice 1 = OSC 2,3 &4 patched to VCF 1 and VCA 1. Pitch is generated by randomly modulated LFOs. Filter and VCA modulated by Looping Envelope Generator. Play with MIX between OSC 2,3 & 4 for different timbres and tone variety.
Voice 2 = OSC 1 patched to VCF & VCA 2. Pitch Generated by S&H and Filter modulated by Looping Envelope Generator.
Patch requires an external mult.
A Krell Nightmare
Another 2 voice generative patch. The pitch for for voices is generated from the sequencer, so depeding on play order of sequencer(ORD/FWD/BACK/RANDOM) and what you play on the keyboard, can be very random to somewhat diatonic.
The ENVELOPE GENERATORs are both triggered by the sequencer, but rhythm randmozation is accomplished by attenuating/offsetting gate cv.
Voice 1 is OSC 1&2 – VCF 1 to VCA 1
Voice 2 is OSC 3&4 – Mixer (add noise for more colour) to VCF 2 to VCA 2
General Settings: Round Robin Mode ON and LOCAL SEQ OFF. (hardwired/normalled gate cv from sequencer should not trigger EGs)
Patch requires an external mult and passive mixer (to control balance of OSC 1 & 2 but mult can be used in it’s place)
Moog Matriarch & Make Noise Maths 03 – “Band in A Box”
Another “Extended” Matriarch video.
This patch builds on the last patch i posted. I’ve added drums to the patch by using the Matriarch’s 2nd LFO as a kick drum and Noise output as snare and hi hats.
Make Noise MATHS is working as a gate delay/clock divider. (it isn’t always perfect so can yield some unexpected and surprising results)
